Signs that are round require a "hoop" made from a .005 brass sheet so the .015 brass wires can be soldered to it for hanging. These Mobil signs are made differently as you can see. .005 brass is cut to the shape of the sign and a 1/16 strip is soldered to the top. Now the .015 brass wires can be soldered to that as you see in the picture. Contact cement secures the paper sign material to the brass. |
