You don't need me to remind about outrageous inflation and the devalue of our dollar.

I have a plan to keep my prices just where their at while everyone is raising theirs. The next six months will prove if that plan works out.

The evolution of a Route 66 Motor Lodge

I was in Prescott last fall doing some business at a rental car company when I noticed an abandoned structure like this hidden from normal view behind "street side" buildings. I consider it a typical Southwestern design that could have been found along Route 66. Here it was, still intact in my own back yard so just run with it as the prototype for a model. A large Neon sign will be installed with billboards advertising Indian jewelry and so forth. By the way, the new name for motor lodge (Motel) was coined by a fellow in San Luis Obispo CA. in the thirties or forties.

This will be a third area on the layout where Route 66 comes and goes. The building is made from 1/8" foam core art board and stuccoed with rock powder and diluted glue. The scene is on 1/4" plywood and can be installed anywhere. The structure takes up a lot of space so this new section was set aside for more "Mother Road" features.
